Feel free to enrich both your personal and work life and hop on board!Why you'll love this jobThis job is a member of the Cabin Projects Engineering Team within the Integrated Operations Division.Responsible for supporting Engineering activities to define, develop, and implement new cabins and aircraft equipment. This job also establishes maintenance programs and standards for the ongoing maintenance of aircraft and components within area(s) of responsibility.What you'll do​Lead aircraft cabin modification projects from requirements definition through certification, installation, and entry into service while managing technical scope, schedule, risks, stakeholder expectations, and overall project execution. Assist in completion of projects outside of leadership assignmentsServe as the primary technical focal point for assigned cabin modification projects, coordinating activities across Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Marketing, suppliers, MROs, regulatory authorities, and with other airline departments.Develops action plans for fleet/multi-fleet and/or component engineering projects and pursues final dispositions according to assessed prioritiesPrepares Engineering documents to implement technical dispositions by providing customized procedures for repairs, modifications, inspections or other maintenance actions which provide benefits in accordance with airline/departmental objectives and management directivesCoordinate technical activities and deliverables with aircraft manufacturers, seat suppliers, IFE providers, cabin interior vendors, and modification organizations to ensure that Engineering dispositions are properly substantiated in accordance with applicable regulations and company manuals. Coordinates with other airline departments to provide for effective and efficient implementation of engineering dispositionsProvide engineering support during aircraft modification, installation, testing, and entry-into-service activities to ensure successful project execution. Keeps informed of day-to-day airline operations involving field of responsibility. Assesses daily priorities in accordance with airline/departmental objectives and management directivesMaintains knowledge of current and pending regulations, which affect areas of responsibility and ensures that all Engineering actions maintain compliance with applicable regulatory requirementsUtilizes available resources to continually increase levels of technical expertise and practical experience. Also strives to improve communications skills, time management and other personal qualities pertinent to maximum effectiveness and efficiency in performing assigned dutiesConducts training and serves as mentor to other Engineers in area(s) of expertiseAll you'll need for successMinimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience​Bachelor's Degree in Engineering in Mechanical/ Aeronautical/ Aerospace/ Electrical discipline Required6 years engineering experience in commercial aviation, aircraft modifications, aircraft interiors, certification, systems integration, or a related fieldExperience leading cross-functional technical projectsDemonstrated ability to lead technical teams without direct authorityStrong technical writing and engineering documentation skillsAbility to read/ use/ understand/ generate detail and installation drawingsKnowledge of 14 CFR Part 25 aircraft certification requirementsFamiliarity with aircraft interiors, regulatory requirements and aircraft engineering practicesPreferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience10 or more years experience in design, certification, or installation of aircraft seating, cabin components, cabin systems or IFEExperience leading aircraft modification projects from requirements development through certification and fleet implementation.Experience managing project schedules, technical risks, and cross-functional stakeholders such as suppliers, MROs, and aircraft manufacturersUnderstanding of 14 CFR Parts 21, 25, and 121Familiarity with FAA, EASA, and FAA-ODA certification processesFamiliarity with Catia 6/ 3DS modeling softwareSkills, Licenses & CertificationsA&P license​Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.Ability to analyze technical data and make data driven decisionsDemonstrates aptitude, ability and willingness to take on new roles and responsibiltiesAbility to prepare/deliver presentations that compel acceptance of solutionsAbility to successfully interact with internal and external customersWhat you'll getFeel free to take advantage of all that American Airlines has to offer: Travel Perks: Ready to explore the world?
